Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a sacred Hindu festival celebrated with great joy and devotion throughout India. It symbolizes the victory of virtue over vice and typically occurs in the months of September or October on the tenth day of the Hindu month of Ashwin. The festival also marks the end of the nine-day Navratri celebration. On this day Lord Rama killed Demon Ravana and defeated him.It is celebrated all over the India with great enthusiasm.It is celebrated at the end of Navaratri. Many people and artist play the role of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and other characters during Ram-Leela on the stage. Effigy of Demon Rauana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath are burnt on this day. This festival gives us message of victory of good over evil. Many carnivals and fairs are organized to celebrate this festival.
